International Day in Raffles World Academy- it is always a scale that is difficult to describe. This time the children landed there earlier with the nanny, and I only caught up to the finals. And he immediately found himself on a quest: finding three children in this human sea is a task with an asterisk. For about 30 minutes I just cut circles around the perimeter, trying to pick them out in the crowd while they were rushing between the stands in supersonic speed.
The atmosphere is completely mind blowing. A real cacophony of sounds: in one corner they beat national drums, in another some ethnic instruments sound, and all this is mixed with the hum of thousands of voices. On stage, one performance is cooler than the other, costumes, flags - at such moments you especially feel this Dubai vibe, when the whole world has really gathered in one spot.
There was absolutely no limit on food: the country stands were simply bursting with all sorts of sweets and national items. True, there was a local “tragedy”. Konstantin was furious and cursed with all his might because he had stood in line for ice cream for 30 minutes! In his frame of reference, this seemed to be the longest and most unfair quest of his life.
But overall, it was very cool and we were tired, stuffed with ice cream and various sweets, and charged with this noise, and went home. These are the days at school for which it is worth dropping everything and just being in this colorful chaos. Next time we'll try to come with the whole family!
